Sixteen-year-old Brit Johnson could hardly believe his good fortune. A hot new band, The Who, was playing Baldwin Gym, just minutes from Johnson’s home in Morristown. On the big day—March 29, 1968—Johnson got a front-row seat. With a Kodak Instamatic camera, Johnson snapped 24 pictures. Only one came out: a close-up of lead singer Roger Daltrey, resplendent in salmon-colored, crushed velvet pants.
